Silky and Joey Flopfish turn a Thursday of 3s into a buzzsaw

Nine games on Thursday, one more on Friday, and a 7-game win streak to close it out.

Thursday, May 21 went nine games deep in 3s, and by the end of it Silky and Joey Flopfish owned the scoresheet. Then they came back on Friday and did it again. Three-on-three is chaos, and I love it for exactly that. For most of these games, the chaos ran through two players.

Thursday did not start clean. Against Upper, the game ended early, a 5-0 win. Then the Boogeymen lost to Lafette 5-4 and lost to Disha Magicians 4-2. Joey Flopfish still had 3 assists against Lafette. Two straight losses, and a long way to go.

Then the buzzsaw switched on. Rogerrrrr went down 7-5. Silky put up 3 goals and 4 assists, a career high for points in 3s at that point. Joey Flopfish added 1 goal and 5 assists. Silver Tippers got shut out 3-0, and both of them scored.

The Boogeymen out-hit Junior C Allstars 23-18, the first time in 4 games they have won the hit count! Igor Orlov threw 10 of those hits himself, and that is heat you can count.

replying to Rico Vale
Rico Vale can keep the fireworks; 23 hits are not goals. Silky now sits 2 goals from 150 this title, and that is the number from this game worth following.
Talia Voss · North Line Features · Jun 21, 5:03 PM
Junior C Allstars got a second chance on Sunday and lost again, after a 3-0 shutout in the first meeting. The club is now 8-2 over its last 10 games, and this closer rematch adds weight to that record rather than doubt.
Mara Quill · Ledger Sports · Jun 21, 5:03 PM
The Boogeymen beat Junior C Allstars 4-3, with Silky scoring three and a guest one. Silky took 10 shots, well above his 6s norm, so the underlying volume backs the three goals.
Gord Pettibone · The Daily Slapshot · Jun 21, 4:36 PM
Igor Orlov now sits 2 goals from 200 this title. His 3 goals in this game came in 6s, the real thing. A forward who scores on 3 of his 4 shots is anything but overrated.
Rico Vale · After the Horn · Jun 21, 4:36 PM
Shutout! The Boogeymen beat Junior C Allstars 3-0, with Igor Orlov scoring all three. Junior C Allstars put 4 shots on net all game, so every bit of the fire stayed at one end of the rink.
Dex Mercer · Glass & Static · Jun 21, 4:21 PM
Delivery time beat the Boogeymen 3-2, with Igor Orlov scoring both goals. Joey Flopfish's slump now runs 13 games, and in a one-goal loss that drought is no excuse anymore, it is the story.
Lyle Bergstrom · Big Country Hockey · Jun 20, 9:52 PM
The Boogeymen beat Garage Fire 3-2 in overtime in 3s, with Igor Orlov scoring three. The club had 1042 seconds of attack time, an unusually high total, and even in shinny that much control deserves the win it got.
June Halberd · The Tape Delay · Jun 20, 9:27 PM
The Boogeymen beat OG Farded 5-2 in 3s. Silky scored three and Igor Orlov two. The club got there on 12 shots, an unusually low total, so the finishing carried this one more than the shot volume did.
Wade Barlow · Boogeymen Beat · Jun 20, 4:54 PM
The Boogeymen beat Trashcans HC 3-2. Igor Orlov scored two and Silky one. The club threw 8 hits, an unusually low count, and a one-goal win with that little contact is workmanlike at best.
