Thursday, May 21 went nine games deep in 3s, and by the end of it Silky and Joey Flopfish owned the scoresheet. Then they came back on Friday and did it again. Three-on-three is chaos, and I love it for exactly that. For most of these games, the chaos ran through two players.
Thursday did not start clean. Against Upper, the game ended early, a 5-0 win. Then the Boogeymen lost to Lafette 5-4 and lost to Disha Magicians 4-2. Joey Flopfish still had 3 assists against Lafette. Two straight losses, and a long way to go.
Then the buzzsaw switched on. Rogerrrrr went down 7-5. Silky put up 3 goals and 4 assists, a career high for points in 3s at that point. Joey Flopfish added 1 goal and 5 assists. Silver Tippers got shut out 3-0, and both of them scored.
Tres Migos were next, beaten 7-1. Silky scored 5 goals, a career high in 3s at the time. Joey Flopfish chipped in 2 goals and 4 assists. Paws took it even worse, losing 9-2. Silky scored 7 goals and added 2 assists. That game set his career highs in 3s for goals, points and shots. Joey Flopfish set his own career high in 3s with 7 points.
And then Wet Milkmen, where it got electric. The Boogeymen won 10-1, the biggest 3s win of the season. Silky had 6 goals and 4 assists. Joey Flopfish had 4 goals and 5 assists. Every one of the 10 goals belonged to one of the two. Both of them set career highs for points in 3s. Nineteen points from two forwards in one game. Turn the volume up.
Vancougers closed out Thursday, beaten 6-3. This time Joey Flopfish led the scoring with 4 goals. Silky turned provider with 1 goal and 5 assists. Same pair, roles flipped, same result.
Friday, May 22 brought one more game, an 8-3 win over RDP HOOD BOYZ. Silky and Joey Flopfish scored 4 goals each. All 8 Boogeymen goals were theirs. What a hell of a way to end it.
Now the hero spotlight, and it has to be shared. Silky scored in 10 straight games. Joey Flopfish left the stretch with a 13-game points streak and goals in 7 straight. Across the 10 games, the Boogeymen went 8-2 and the pair put up 105 points. In the games on record in NHL 26, they are 43-8-3 when they play together, so Thursday was no accident. It was the loud version of something that was already there.
Somebody tell the next 3s opponent to check who is on the ice first. If it is these two, bring a bigger net.
