Silky and Joey Flopfish, a partnership that shows up on every line

The forwards shared 105 points in 10 games of 3s, and their numbers together run deeper than one hot stretch.

The last score of the stretch read 8-3 over RDP HOOD BOYZ, and the box score beside it looked like a mirror. Silky had 4 goals and 2 assists. Joey Flopfish had 4 goals and 3 assists. Two forwards finished the same game with the same number of goals. It is hard to draw a cleaner picture of a partnership than that.

That game, on Friday, May 22, closed a run of 10 games in 3s. The run had started the evening before, on Thursday, May 21. The Boogeymen went 8-2 across it, and the best part came at the end: 7 straight wins to close the stretch. Silky and Joey Flopfish put up 105 points between them along the way, and that is why this piece is about the two of them and not about any single game.

Silky finished the stretch with 56 points. Joey Flopfish finished with 49. Side by side, they show a load shared almost evenly between two forwards.

The peak came in the 10-1 win over Wet Milkmen, the biggest 3s win of the season. Silky had 6 goals and 4 assists in that game. Joey Flopfish had 4 goals and 5 assists. That is 19 points between them in one game, and both players were big there by their own standards. Neither had to hold the game up alone.

The longer view has the same shape. In the games on record in NHL 26, Silky and Joey Flopfish have played 54 games together and gone 43-8-3. Silky scores 3.44 points per game alongside Joey Flopfish. Joey Flopfish scores 2.74 alongside Silky. Those rates hold over a lot more hockey than one Thursday.

The games apart are few, a small sample that should be read lightly. Still, they lean the same way. Without Joey Flopfish, Silky sits at 2.43 points per game over 7 games. Without Silky, Joey Flopfish sits at 2.11 over 18. Both numbers are good. Both are lower than what each player produces with the other. On those numbers, and with the apart samples as small as they are, the fair reading is that each one lifts the other's scoring.

The stretch gave each of them a round number as well. Silky reached 100 assists in NHL 26 in the games on record. Joey Flopfish reached 100 assists in the games on record too. It fits that the milestone they share is an assist mark.

What the numbers describe, in the end, is a partnership with a long track record. Over 10 games of 3s, the pair put up big lines and the Boogeymen closed with 7 straight wins. A hot game can come from anywhere. The 54 games together are the steady part of the story, and that is something a club can build an identity on.
