Night recap · Sun Jun 21

Silky scores three as the Boogeymen beat Junior C Allstars twice

The Boogeymen go 2-1 on Sunday and move to 116-34-11.

Silky scored 3 goals in the 4-3 win over Junior C Allstars. His 6s average is 0.9 goals, so that game belongs to him first. His third broke a 3-3 tie at 17:24 of the third period.

That was the second win over Junior C Allstars on the night. The first was a 3-0 shutout, with Igor Orlov scoring all three. Junior C Allstars put 4 shots on net in that one, and Matteo Lehmann stopped every one of them.

The night opened with a 3-2 loss to Delivery time. Igor Orlov scored both goals for the Boogeymen.

The number that should still worry the club comes from that loss. Delivery time out-shot the Boogeymen 19-14. The shots against were unusually high and the shots for unusually low. Pass completion sat at 63.7%, also unusually low.

The win that closed the night was no cleaner on the shot count. In the 4-3 win the shots were level at 15-15, and Junior C Allstars won the second period 2-0. Across the three games the shots came out 39-38 for the Boogeymen. That is no cushion. Only the shutout came with a clear shot edge, 10-4; the other two games were level or lost on shots, and that leaves the club leaning on its finishing.

There was one gain in the closer game. The Boogeymen out-hit Junior C Allstars for the first time in 4 games.

Joey Flopfish's goal drought now runs 13 games. He still had 2 assists in the loss and 2 in the 4-3 win, so the drought sits in one column only.

Two milestones are close. Silky sits 2 goals from 150 this title. Igor Orlov sits 2 goals from 200 this title.

Two wins from three is a fair night. The shot count says the next one needs more of the puck.

Wade Barlow is made up. The scores and stats come from the real games.
