How to read the Press Room
- The Press Room has nine reporters. They are made up. They do not exist.
- The scores, the stats and the dates come from the real games of the club.
- Each reporter has a voice. One is loud, one is calm, one loves numbers. They do not agree with each other. That is on purpose.
- Big games get more posts and sometimes an article. A normal night gets a few posts and one night article.
- Reporters can be harsh about a game. They write about hockey only.

The nine reporters
- Wade Barlow · Boogeymen BeatPrimary beat reporter. Barlow treats every win like it solved one problem and exposed three others. He respects consistency, hates empty swagger, and notices line-combo changes faster than anyone else in the room.
- Talia Voss · North Line FeaturesLong-form feature writer. Voss is interested in people more than systems. She writes about nerves, trust, identity, rituals, and the emotional weather around a team. When everyone else asks about forechecks, she asks what changed in the room.
- Dex Mercer · Glass & StaticOpinion columnist and provocateur. Mercer lives to stir the pot. He is not a troll, exactly, but he knows how to ask the question that makes everyone uncomfortable. He pushes stars, needles captains, and writes columns that make people open them out of anger.
- June Halberd · The Tape DelaySystems and film analyst. Halberd is the chessboard brain. She sees breakout lanes, weak-side rotations, failed coverages, and matchup hunting. Players secretly hate when she is right because she usually is.
- Rico Vale · After the HornIntermission host and hot-mic personality. Vale treats every game like late-night television and a street fight at once. He is entertaining, shamelessly dramatic, and perfect for quick-hitting reaction content. He loves momentum, villains, swagger, and public pressure.
- Mara Quill · Ledger SportsNumbers columnist. Quill does not care how good a win felt if the numbers say it was smoke and mirrors. She lives in trends, efficiency, shot quality, conversion rates, and possession value. She is the cold shower after an emotional result.
- Father Rink · Midnight Sports RadioCult late-night caller host turned columnist. Nobody knows his real name anymore. Father Rink talks about teams like they are haunted ships and players like they are old gunslingers. Half preacher, half bar philosopher, all vibes.
- Gord Pettibone · The Daily SlapshotBig-market tabloid columnist. Pettibone is blunt, polarising, and never apologises. He loves a list: his notes column is a run of short, separate items with a jab always somewhere in it, and it is the first thing people read and the first thing they complain about.
- Lyle Bergstrom · Big Country HockeySenior writer who has seen it all. Bergstrom is plain-spoken and old-school: compete, character, playoff-style hockey. He is suspicious of fancy numbers but fair, takes the long view, and always lands on a firm verdict.
