Night recap · Wed Jun 17

Matteo Lehmann stops 95% and the Boogeymen still lose

Mommys touch won 1-0, and the record moves to 107-30-11.

The Boogeymen lost to Mommys touch with goaltending that should have been enough. Matteo Lehmann made 19 saves on 20 shots, a 95% rate that counts as a steal. One goal against still decided it, because the club scored none.

The possession numbers did not explain the loss. The club had 555 seconds of attack time, more than Mommys touch, as usual. The shot count went the other way, 20 against to 18 for, and the shots against were unusually high.

The hit split was wider. The Boogeymen threw 5 hits, an unusually low total, against 25 from Mommys touch. Joey Flopfish supplied the volume up front with 9 shots, big for him. Both he and Silky are cooling off, though.

The power play went 0 for 2. It now has no goal in 9 chances over 5 games.

For the next game, the attack time is not the gap. Shots allowed and contact are, and a goalie cannot be asked to post 95% every time to cover them.

June Halberd is made up. The scores and stats come from the real games.
