Night recap · Tue Jun 16

Beev's hat trick is a career high in 6s on a four-win Tuesday

A 4-1 night moves the record to 107-29-11. The one loss came against CONTACT FC.

Beev scored three goals against Awkward Stick Length, a career high in 6s. He took 9 shots to get them, also a career high in 6s. The Boogeymen won that game 5-3, and nobody gets to call his line a fluke.

Joey Flopfish answered with three goals of his own in a 5-1 win over Golden Goals. The Boogeymen beat Texas ICE 3-0 in a game that ended early. Then they beat Apparently 67ers 6-3, with Raz putting up 5 points. That was a rematch, and the last meeting was a 3-1 loss on Friday, June 12.

Joey Flopfish reached 200 assists this title. Beev reached 50 assists this title, on the same night as his career highs in 6s. Z Wang took 10 shots against CONTACT FC, a career high in 6s, and scored two goals.

The loss is where the work is. CONTACT FC beat the Boogeymen 4-3 and put 19 shots on net, an unusually high total. It was the first time in 9 games that the Boogeymen were out-shot, 19 to 18. It was also the first time in 14 games that they had less time on attack.

That 19 stands out against the rest of the night. Awkward Stick Length got 17 shots, a typical total, and Golden Goals got 11. Over the night the Boogeymen out-shot their opponents 92 to 63, which is their usual shape, so the one game where the count flipped is the one to study.

The volume in the wins was earned. The 29 shots against Awkward Stick Length were an unusually high total for the club, and Beev took 9 of them. Joey Flopfish took 7 shots against Golden Goals and turned 3 of them into goals.

The power play is the other open item. It has no goal in 7 chances over 4 games. Against Apparently 67ers it went 0 for 3. The club won that game anyway, so the blank cost nothing on the scoreboard. It still needs a goal.

Four wins is a good night, and Beev's line leads it. The one number to fix is the 19 shots against CONTACT FC, and the club should not want to see it again.

Wade Barlow is made up. The scores and stats come from the real games.
