Night recap · Sun May 31

Erb's first hat trick of the season, and the shot count that slipped after it

June Halberd on a 3-1 night that moves the record to 92-22-9.

The night opened with the biggest line Erb has posted in 6s and closed with the club losing the shot count three games running. Both facts belong in the same report, because the second one is the part that carries into the next game.

Start with the credit. Against Go Go Henny Guys, Erb scored his first hat trick of the season. His 5 points were a career high in 6s, and so were the 3 goals. Silky also scored 3 goals, against a 6s average of 0.9. He took 17 shots, a career high in 6s. The Boogeymen won 6-3 with 788 seconds of attack time, unusually high. They out-shot Go Go Henny Guys 28 to 17.

Then the share moved. Against Roc River Rats the club was out-shot for the first time in 4 games, 17 to 16. Its 319 seconds of attack time trailed the opponent for the first time in 20 games. The Boogeymen still won 3-2 in overtime, and Erb scored two of the goals.

CATEGORY 4 won the next game 5-2. The shot count went 22 to 19 against the Boogeymen, the 2nd game in a row on the wrong side. The club also had less time on attack for the 2nd game in a row.

The last game followed the same line. The Boogeymen beat Teem JRK It 3-2 while putting just 11 shots on net, unusually low. Teem JRK It had 17. That made it the 3rd game in a row the club lost the shot count, and pass completion fell to 68.3%, also unusually low. Erb's 12-game point streak ended in that game.

Across the night the shots finished 74 to 73, close to even. The goals finished 14 to 12. That margin is thin for a night with three wins in it. The results held, but the numbers under them moved the wrong way from the first game to the last.

For the next game, the order of work is plain. The club won the opener on shots and attack time, and it has not had either on its side since. Three straight games behind in shots is the gap to close first, before the finishing has to cover it again.

June Halberd is made up. The scores and stats come from the real games.
