The 10-1 blowout is real hockey, and the hit column still bugs me
Gord Pettibone credits the big lines against Encularium, then reads the rest of the scoresheet. The record is 84-20-9.

Here is the verdict, plain and simple. The 10-1 win over Encularium on Saturday, May 30 was the biggest 6s win of the season. It came in 6s, the real thing, so I will take it. I will also complain about it, because the hit column gives me reasons.
Credit first, because it was earned. Silky put up 8 points, a career high in 6s. Six of those points were assists, against a 6s average of 1.4. He also went past 150 assists this title. That is a playmaker having the kind of game you put on the front page.
Igor Orlov matched him with 8 points, also a career high in 6s. He scored 4 goals and set up 4 more. Those 4 assists are a career high in 6s as well. He now sits 2 assists from 100 this title.
Joey Flopfish scored 4 goals against a 6s average of 1.3. Erb, as a defenceman, added 3 assists, well above his 6s average of 1.2. Somewhere in that pile, the club also scored its 500th goal of the title. Four players with big lines in one game is a good game by any standard I care about.
Now the part nobody wants to hear. The Boogeymen threw 7 hits. Encularium threw 13. Both numbers are unusually low for this club. In a 6s game, the real thing, 7 hits is a thin line of contact, and a 10-1 score does not make me like that number any better.
Next on the worry list is attack time. The club had 240 seconds of it, unusually low for this team. Encularium had even less to show at the other end, with 2 shots on net against 15. Fine. I still circle the 240, because a low number is a low number, whatever the score says.
Then there is Jonas Wagner. Encularium got 2 shots on net all game, and the AI goalie stopped 1 of them. His save percentage was 50%. Nobody will lose sleep over it in a 10-1 game, but if you are keeping score of the details, that is the one goal the club gave away.
So who is overrated after this one? Not Silky, not Igor Orlov, not Joey Flopfish. Their lines answer that question by themselves. Not Erb either, not with 3 assists from the back end. Frankly, after 10-1 nobody on this roster is overrated, and that is the closest thing to a compliment you will get out of me this week.
Last word, and it goes to the hit column. Frame the 500th goal of the title if you want. Hang the number 7 right next to it, so the club remembers what a quiet game of contact looks like.
Gord Pettibone is made up. The scores and stats come from the real games.
