Night recap · Sat May 23

Snoop Dogg HC out-shoot the Boogeymen 24-12 and end the win streak

Four wins and one loss on the night. The record moves to 74-18-9.

Igor Orlov's hat trick against Big Kahuna Burger came on 14 shots, a career high in 6s. The result that needs explaining is a different one: a 4-0 loss to Snoop Dogg HC that ended a 12-game win streak and was an upset.

The breakdown is plain. The club was out-shot 24-12 in that game and had 380 seconds of attack time, both unusual for the Boogeymen. The club's 6s norm is 566.7 seconds. It was the first time in 8 games that an opponent had more attack time. Snoop Dogg HC scored two goals in the 1st period. They added two more in the 3rd. Silky threw 16 hits, a career high in 6s, and the club threw 31, an unusually high count. The hits did not turn into shots. Joey Flopfish's 27-game point streak also ended there.

The rest of the night shows what changed. The night opened with a 3-0 win over 100 Mounes; that game ended early. After the loss, the shot count turned straight back. Against 15 Percent the club took 22 shots to 9. Attack time in that game was 712 seconds. Beev scored both goals in a 2-1 win.

Against Big Kahuna Burger the shot count went to 29-15. Igor Orlov scored three of the goals in the 5-1 win. That was the 100th game of the title. Jonas Wagner stopped 14 of 15 shots, a steal.

The last game turned the shot count around again. Muskrat HC out-shot the Boogeymen 21 to 11, both unusual counts for the club. The Boogeymen still won 4-1. Jonas Wagner made 20 saves on 21 shots, a 95.2% steal. Silky raised his career high in 6s to 17 hits.

So the shot gap that decided the loss closed in the next game and opened again in the last one, where the AI goalie covered it. The night totals show a thin margin: 74 shots for and 69 against. That leaves one open item for the next game. The power play has gone 8 chances over 5 games without a goal. Against Snoop Dogg HC alone it went 0 for 2. The club's 6s power-play rate is 22.9%, so a run this long without a goal is where the next game should be judged.
