Seven straight wins ended in overtime against Biohazard, 6-5. The shot count went the Boogeymen's way in that game, 20-15. Three other numbers did not.
Matteo Lehmann made 9 saves on 15 shots, a 60% game and a meltdown in net. The club was also out-hit 29-5, both counts unusual for this group in 3s. Pass completion fell to 72.6%, unusually low as well.
The scoring end held up. Joey Flopfish, playing defence, scored 3 goals against his 3s average of 0.3 a game in that role. Silky added 3 assists in the same game, big for him. Raz scored two of his own, and over the night he reached 50 goals this title.
The earlier games give the context. Against Ginger prolaps the club allowed only 5 shots and won 3-2. Silky and Raz each threw 11 hits, a season high in 3s for both. Against Holy Generals the Boogeymen won 5-2 for the 50th win of the title, though they took 23 hits. Against L O O P S they were out-shot 19-17, the first time in 10 games. They also had less time on attack than the opponent, 508 seconds, for the first time in 5 games, and still won 3-2 in overtime.
Stat by stat, the change across the night sits in the physical numbers. Against Ginger prolaps the club took 5 hits and threw 23. Against Biohazard it took 29 and threw 5. The Boogeymen won the shot count in three of the four games and the hit count in only two.
For the next game, the number to watch is hits against, unusually high at 29 in the loss. The streak ended at 7, and the next game starts a new count.
